the jewel that was the sea

By Chie Theresa Fujioka

liquified cloud of murky dark haunts my view
migraine of the silence grates upon my mind
strangled by pressure, yet I still follow you
On the sea floor who knows just what we will find?

riding upon my storm-tossed ship
i for ballast, made you my mast
But you by heavy force broke
and into the water we were cast

and now you sink me down to depths unknown
searching for the colored blossoms on the floor

submarine submarine flowers
beautiful dreams
you lost them and you want them back
