Secluded as Orion
It shoots to us its irascible glance
Expanding its torched troops to
The black clouded distance.
Sneering at the steaming moats
Traversed by matching tires passing
Along this enclave's borders
In amazement dashing.
A frightening burst of flame
From which shies the joyful morning star
Near to view those golden eyes
Resting on iron bars.
How much like its enemy
Beautiful in all its wickedness
Looming like golden glaciers
That steam with thickened mist.
Passing its deathly threshold
Turning like Sarah to glance behind
Eyes do not change our hearts to salt
That melts the glacier upon blue night.
