Christmas Poem

By Paul Colwell

Christmas Poem

My heart is like a bouncing ball That bounces through an endless hall

My heart is like a jumping bean That jumps and jumps until unseen

My heart is like a dog’s tail with a wag When his master says lets play tag

My heart is greater than all of these Because we go back home on Christmas eve

Thinking about Christmas and a warm cozy fire Makes my heart leap and no excitement can be higher

As I picture in my head the nativity Christmas scene I see lights, ornaments and candles colored in red and green

I can almost hear the jingle of bells And my nose senses cinnamon spices and other Christmas smells

I tend not to worry about presents under the tree Just being home is enough for my family and me
