RE: Link and Think Day
Link and Think Day is an outgrowth of the Day Without Art.

And one can't do a bunch of links about AIDS without mentioning the AIDS Quilt.

The latter is an amazing thing. It's one thing to babble on about how the internet allows different people all over the planet to build wonderful artistic communities. It's another thing altogether to see a virtual community build around a piece of physical art. Who says atoms are tired? Eat that, Nicholas Negroponte.

One candelight vigil in the park can be as meaningful as a google-cache full of typing.

Like last year's Day Without Art, Link and Think is the Internet's participation in World Aids Day. The change is, this time we're linking to information about AIDS.

I broke both legs one day (you should have seen the other guy...my bike kicked that car's ass). As part of the many trips to the hospital, I received a lot of blood. Some of it during the time when Oregon's blood supply could not be guaranteed to be safe. It was a very tense, very scary time. I will never forget.
