downpour

did you steal the rain my dear?
it trickles down your cheek
that when i see its solitude
nature's wrath seems weak.

Stop it! Stop it! Stop it! Your minimalist poetry is driving me insane! Every fiber of my being is working overtime to stop me from continuing, in an epic poem that somehow links all of mankind's trials and emotions to the natural world as it sucks the very life out of our hollow existence...

Fortunately, I doubt I have the ability to mimic your style, which puts you at the advantage for now, but someday the tables will be turned, and if it's during breakfast there will be sticky maple syrup all over the place.

I dare you to write a second verse.

And it has to be as positively brilliant as the first, or it doesn't count.

Hah!
