And The Heavens Stared Back By: Andrew Guerrero on 6/19/2003; 4:19 PM Orbs of four-quarter lights above they spread hung by four stream lines of coil. It shone but shine it faintly does, this I saw after work's rewarded toil. Each overlap in the dimming vastness Where no other beam can be seen Except the firmament completing near. This I witnessed while gladly leaned. And as I leaned my day worn back, The winds shifted under the neon sign. My visions permitted the gust's request and there was the girl and sky entwined. Her gaze was stern and long up in the swarthy hue of sapphire. And her neck, granted to the last bone I, for one felt most great dire. But on her face seemed some shimmer bodies gleaned in marvel and glisten. Those shut, torpid lips hid all awe will gape if one will quietly listen. And she kept on with no such haste the stars I soon slowly lost track. For I was eager to rest my pain. For her the heavens still stared back.
