Mood report, Saturday, September 9, 2000
By: Mark Morgan on 9/9/2000; 10:26 AM

Bit ticked off today, that's what. Enola (the girlfriend) works at a little cafe in our little town. I've gotten into the habit of going in there and having coffee, breakfast, lunch, whatever, socializing, whatever. Hell, I'm a paying customer, right?

The place is owned by a husband and a wife. Wife likes me; didn't seem to mind me coming in all the time. I even delivered some food for Wife one day in exchange for a free breakfast. No problem.

Problem: Husband was there today. He told Enola that I'm not wanted there. He doesn't want me hanging around there any more. It's not like I stay the whole freaking day, more like an hour. And I'm a paying customer, every time I go there. Which won't be any more, even on Enola's day off, because that really pissed me off.

Time for some Tension Tamer Extra tea, I can tell.

Some explanation might be in order. I really don't know why I'm treated differently than other customers, other than that I'm Enola's boyfriend. It's a social place, and there are a lot of regulars who come in and have coffee and sit and chat.

Apparently, solely because I'm Enola's boyfriend, I don't get to do that. If I was distracting her that would be one thing, but I am very careful not to when she's busy. Rather offended that I'm being treated differently than the group of old men who come in every day and do exactly the same thing!

Waiting for that tea to kick in, that's what.
