A Scene By: Mark Morgan on 4/14/2000; 9:06 PM The LIVING ROOM of a HOME, DAYTIME. It is an attractive, but modest home. CORRINNE DILLINGHAM is sitting in a chair, reading a book by the (unlit) FIREPLACE. Her husband, SETH DILLINGHAM, has just opened the front door, obviously just back from a trip. A stack of luggage is just visible to the audience outside the door, including the corner of a LARGE STEAMER TRUNK just visible underneath the other bags. SETH: (Entering.) Hi, honey. That was a brutal business trip. CORRINNE: (Rises to meet him, gives him a hug.) I'm glad you're back. So it went well? SETH: Yeah, I think so. They're going to deploy Conversant across their whole network, and they have a bunch of things they want us to customize for them. CORRINNE: I'll never see you at home again, huh? (They both laugh.) CORRINNE: They must have run you roughshod. Two extra days! SETH: (Looking furtive.) Um, actually, I got done there early. I, uh, made a side trip. CORRINE: Side trip? SETH: Yeah, to Oregon. You know that writer guy, the one I kept trying to get to just move his site over to us? CORRINE: (Suspicious) Yes... SETH: Well, I got tired of messing with him and I kind of took care of it. CORRINNE: So he's going to do it? SETH: (Sheepishly.) Well, that's not for sure yet. But I think he'll come around. Um, you want to help me with that trunk? CORRINE: (Gets it.) Seth! SETH: Well, I told him I'd let him out as soon as he agrees. . . . END

Re: A Scene By: Seth Dillingham on 4/17/2000; 9:35 AM Forgot to respond to this one, sorry Mark! You hit pretty close to home with that 'scene'. The fireplace would not have been lit (that's my job), Corinne would definitely have been reading. Our home is attractive and modest, too, if I do say so myself. You missed two points, though: 1. When you come home to a woman like Corinne, you don't just hug. Definitely has to be a big kiss. No need to embarrass her with a romance scene, but it just isn't realistic without a kiss! 2. We would have left the trunk outside. ;-) Very funny, we both got a good laugh over that one.
