The Proud Rifleman (and the loss of his crops)
By: Ben C on 3/2/2003; 2:21 PM

"depart your path!
so heavily trod.
withdraw your feet!
from my cool raked sod."

and that I regret to say he said…
with a cold heart and a frozen nod.
undelivered pride and a heaving head,
he wept today, 'twas slightly odd.

he art twenny and yet he cried?
feet stained brown with mud!
at twenny and a one-half he sighed…
and let loose the sprink hoe thud

unaspired, insecurative,
he wash the bottom skin.
bathed in sink superlative…
he scrub his meaty feet till thin

disaster in the field!
a grenade throws and falls…
it fates an impromptu shield.
cracks open into that hero's balls.

a fire by the heath row,
afar he weep: a glinter in this soiler's eye,
a wind that cannot whistle, nor blow,
but on --- it spurs the fire!
