Only Words (Sticks And Stones)
By: Jody on 11/10/2002; 5:36 PM

Deep, Dark, Painful They Stab Your Soul,
Kill Your Hope.
Each Word Cuts Through Your Skin,
The Words Are Razors,
But Not Skin Deep
They Slash And Stab Your Heart,
Cut Your Arteries,
The Blood Separates The Pain,
It Stains The Agony,
It Pierces The Skin,
Like An Acupuncture Needle,
Prick, Prick, Prick.

The Blood Leaks Out,
Drops...
One By One,
Leavind Dark Red Drops Behind,
Staining Skin,
With Cloud Stricken Patterns,
Symbols,
Signs Of A Fucked Up Being
When The Blood Reaches The Ground,
It Thumps,
Now Theres A New Stain.

The Screaming, Yelling
Hurting
You Cant Cover Your Ears,
You Cant Cover Your Heart,
It Wont Go In-One-Ear-And-Out-The-Other
It Is Deep,
It Stains Like Red Wine,
It Stabs Your Every Vein.
Hurting,
Why Are They So Cruel?
Mean, Evil, Vicious Words
Stabbing, Piercing, Punching,
Surrounding Your Head.
Hurting
The Blood Is Scorching, Bubbling
The Blood Is Good

Ouchy! This is a very good poem, My eyes tearing up as I type this. If you actually feel like this, remember that such words generally say more about the speaker than the receiver of the verbal abuse. What I usually do is ignore people who talk that way, and if necessary, stick my fingers in my ears and sing "I'm Henry the Eighth I Am" or the Bob the Foo song. Or growl and make strange noises, in which case the obnoxious person usually backs off, especially if I start frothing at the mouth. Actually I do this fairly rarely, because I make fun of myself so much that very rarely do people feel the need to pick on me very much, especially since I learned to fart quietly.
