Ode to Stress Liquid

Ode to Stress Liquid
By: Rachelle King on 9/25/2002; 11:36 PM

Belly full of pine needles
linings crumble and peal
under pressures of acidic traitor

Caregiver attempts peace treaty
with unruly savagery:
Chalky residue detached to squabble
assaulting innocent taste buds
while liberation tunneled to revolt
preaching milky,
blushing relief
to digestive protests.

Vomitting is the ultimate cure for such digestive problems, generally if you don't have anything in your stomach it won't hurt. When you're stressed you stop digesting food which is why your stomach can start to feel really bad. At any rate, great poem, I love poems that have to do with the digestive tract (and the fluids therein).

I take it you've never had the 'dry heaves"?

Nope I've never had the dry heaves. Vomitting has always worked for me, it or relaxation exercises.

I hate yackin'. That's why I turn to the aid offered from the great viscious minty relief of bismuth (ie. Pepto Bismo).

Evan, I am happy to assist you with your morbid fascination of stomach fluids. I chose to entertain this topic due to the recent installation by my digestive organs of painful ulcers. Addressing my flaws and hardships with satiric comedy has become a source of relief for me. Maybe I should try these "relaxation exercises" you speak of?

Hmmmmm let me think, what would be the best relaxation exercise. Hmmm well we'll avoid the visualization of stress as a thick brown fluid (I'm not making this up, its an actual technique) so we'll stick with the basic technique I use. This is stuff I picked up from books about hypnosis (which the Iberville Library stopped carrying for some reason).

Imagine a pool of water; Imagine a drop of water falling into the pool of water. As it strikes the placid surface it sends out ripples. As the first ripple forms, another forms within it, creating ripples within ripples within ripples, a series of concentric rings. Feel the ripples of relaxation spreading..... At this point you just keep naming body parts from the toes upward until you reach your head, attempt to be complete in your list but avoid body parts that might make you laugh (pelvis really seems to make people laugh for some reason). Then after the various parts of the head, Completely relaxed, completely relaxed completely relaxed.

This is really intended for hypnotizing others but I find it works well for me, unless I have to pee, which all the water imagery can create the need to do.
