Before Today By: Dorothy Marie on 2/28/2002; 4:16 PM Before today I never stopped to feel the balls of water bouncing on my hair each morning when I turned on the river and let loose this fountain I never thought this was- rain from some mountain. So I opened my eyes and for the first time in my life I watched the warped spheres float down from my eyelids lost people sprawled in the air hurled from some bridge somewhere. And I never realized what gravity was until I watched those little spheres fall such great speed from my eyes I never blinked and in a second their lives were all gone their lives were all gone. Before this morning I never stopped to think as I lay in my bed hand on my stomach hand on my pillow what, is this reality? I had forgotten my body- but I desired not to find it. So I closed my eyes and forgot my arms left alone with only my mind I realized this reality was all relative because I could not tell where my dreams ended was my day pretended? Do I really need glasses at all? And I never realized how a slave lived until I looked in the mirror through slow melting glasses such slow speed before my eyes for I am a slave to society's plastic. So throw away the eyes! Throw away the magazines! Throw away your life and live in your dreams. There really is no difference in what you see it is in your mind. Lay in bed, become blind, forget time.

RE: Before Today By: Evan on 2/5/2002; 3:53 PM Hoo boy this is the sort of poetry I REALLY like because it shows the interaction between the world of the mind and the physical (the term "real world" is a complete misnomer because who is to say which world has a greater value)world. The physical world when tempered with one's imagination is a wonderous place as is the world of one's mind once it sucks in the sensory inputes from the physical world.
RE: Before Today By: Dorothy Marie on 2/7/2002; 6:57 PM Hehe. I'll temp you all I like, Chie!!! muhahaha! ... Anyway, thanks Evan. :) This was written on one of THOSE days. You know, THOSE days? Those days when you just had this great, realistic dream and when you wake up, it doesn't feel like you've woken at all? Anywho, it's easier for me to make a dream real than to make reality a dream. =)P
RE: Before Today By: Evan on 2/8/2002; 12:05 AM ooh yes I love those types of dreams, the ones that make you forget what the reality really is even after you've woken up. I'm very good at letting my dreams intrude into reality, all I have to do is let my imagination get carried away and dreams can be a whole lot of fun, especially if you've developed the ability to recognize when you are dreaming and then you can manipulate the world within your mind. Its a lot of fun. Of course everybody has the interaction between dreaming and reality. Many may not realize it but it seems to me that one's dreams are quite probably at the root of creative thought.
