More news on dorm life.
By: Evan on 1/29/2002; 2:56 PM

Some of these dorm rules are a bit ridiculous. For some reason I'm not allowed to urinate in the my room's sink even if I wake up in the middle of the night and have to relieve myself. If I turn on the water its much the same as a toilet isn't it? Also I've found out that I can rotate the lower half of my body 90 degrees and keep walking normally (well normally for me, I apparently walk funny). Oh and its really fun to type on my computer here because the keyboard makes clicky noises, much like the wonderful clicking of a clicky pen. Clicky pens are extremely fun to click upon various points of one's skull. Well at any rate, now that my computer is hooked up to the internet hopefully I'll have some stories up soon, (most probably another installment in the Adventures of Niggly Bop).

hhaha ur way too much like me and my friends, its probally not healthy, i suggest a good dose of appendecidus thoughts and some sugar. that should do it. more fun than cliky pens is mechanicl pencils, clik until as long as can get then stikk pppl w/ it nad they get pissed. speaking of pissed, wrte various letters upside down when wrting rough drafts and have friends chek it and they get confused, much fun. this is a rather irrelavent story but oh well. on the way to school this morning and i saw a truk wth " low riders are for guys who cant get up" wrtten on the bakc, i automatcally thought of shorter ppl, thinking about how they must have low cars to get in (up) than taller ppl who can have big trucks like this guy. so i said it out loud in a echong deep voice of approval, my mother looks at me , quite shokked nad says "okay sarah..." then i realized what i had just said and pretended like i didnt get it and hoped that the ppl next to me ( who also had theyre window down) didnt here. much fun....

Curmudgeonliness
By: ScottN on 1/30/2002; 9:09 PM

OT, and I apologize for the curmudgeonliness of this post in advance.

Perhaps it's my advanced age (yeah, yeah...) but the IM shorthand is incredibly hard to read. I just find proper spelling (or at least reasonable attempts), capitalization, grammar, and punctuation much easier to read and understand.

I realize that I'm obviously in severe need of a cluestick beating, and there is no offense intended.

Maybe once Mark gets the Journals vs. Writings things down, we could try to have a bit more order in the Writings, and leave the Journals free form...

Then again, maybe I'm just getting old...

Sarah, I was having trouble following your writing, too. It didn't bother me because I hardly read anything but the published works. The rest I just scan.

Sarah, don't mind me... as I said, I know it's *my* problem, and I suspect the issue will pretty much go away once Mark gets the Journals/Writings separation thing in.

Ehhh.. you youngsters and your instant messaging! Why, back in the day, we had to send messages by carrier pigeon! And we had to walk 15 miles through a snowstorm to get to the pigeon coop... uphill... both ways! And we were glad to do it too! Sure, it took six days just to carry on a conversation, but we had values back then... rassum-fassum-mumble-grumble

My psychology professor taught us how to keep kids off of our lawns when we're old and crotchedly. Simply pay them to be on your lawn for a couple of weeks and then stop paying them. Despite the fact they did it anyway before you started paying them. They look upon it as their doing a favor for you and the money has become their motivation.
