My Gram, A Jewel By: roseSky on 12/11/2001; 3:11 PM Whispering winds, flowing thru time. Childhood memories, gracing our hearts. I stand humble to thee. My Gram, a jewel, in the wide open sea. Precious and rare, Tender and true. An outpour of love. From the day we were born. A Gift we were given Our Gram, A Jewel. Written in words, flowing from my heart. Treasured memories, never will they part. Waterfront lake heavenly smell. Fireplace glowing. With warmth and spirit. Was that my Grandfather walking the stairs? Oh yes, my child! Heaven cares. My Gram, a jewel in the wide open sea. To know our Gram, is to know a spirit of tender loving ability to give of her love. A treasured star glowing from above. If only you knew, how deeply appreciated and loved you are. I write these words down for you today. In hopes that you'll carry them all thru your days. I love you , my Gram. A Jewel so rare, so precious, so tender and TRUE! Happy 90th Birthday to YOU! I wrote this for my Gram on her 90th birthday, she has sinced passed onto heaven last week.... Although I weep, I am at peace.... thankyou Mark, I hope this works.... this time. Rose

RE: My Gram, A Jewel By: Mark Morgan on 12/14/2001; 5:59 PM No problem, Rose. As was recently pointed out to me, nobody gets the poetry formatting right on the first try. It may be possible to automate it a little, putting <pre> tags around all the poetry. A neat idea, the only problem being that on both browsers I use the PRE tag changes the font to smaller.

If you're going to wrap it in pre tags, you can just as easily wrap it in an extra font tag to make the text larger, or use a CSS class in the pre tag to make the text 128 points ZapfDingbats (or Wingdings), or do whatever else you want.
