The Wish By: Sarah on 10/21/2001; 3:26 PM Oh how I wish I had the gift of word, To tell thee of my sickness that slices through me like a sword. To be able to tell of the blackness thriving within, the darkness lying under fair hair and skin. To pick out some good words to tell to the bright sun, to know how to tell thee of this thing called Depression.

If I've ever seen something I could tell a depressed person to be happy about, it is that you are a REALLY GREAT WRITER! I'm sensing you're very young, which means you're in a position to really hone your craft, and become one of the true greats. Now you have a mission. Now you have something to live for. Now, there is no one who can stand in your way. How lucky for you! Now go forth, and live the dream. Let your feet touch this earth only as a respite to the constant soaring of your soul. Share with all of us the grim or wonderful possibilities you magically pour onto the page, and make us humble in our unsuspecting ineloquence. Says ME, THAT's WHO!

Sarah, you should read the formatting instructions for instructions on how to format things like poetry, so your carriage returns look right. I'm going to add something to the posting form about it. And, judging by these first few pieces of yours, we are going to love you. You have a wonderful ability to express your thoughts and emotions: never forget that, and please do not ignore it. I think many people think their works are worse than they actually are. Don't worry if YOU don't think the work is very good, odds are other people will.

You're going to love the results if, like me, you're frustrated trying to keep the comments and the published works apart.
