Crosshairs (edited mary is this good??)
By: Kaju Sarkar on 10/21/2001; 3:44 PM

Coldness seems to seep into my skin.

Shleves form a corridor,

scared that my books are going to come tumbling down.

endless streches of footpaths

Resemble the interior corridors of my mind..

Some secret agency hiding it's archives..

creaking of the air coinditioner

glare of the tubelights..

Future is nearer than you think

Clouds form shpaes taking reality only in fantasy

The domino effect settles in....

So many emotions caged

Under spines of metal

The yellow parchment withdraws it self

The music fading my soul..

For some reason, this seems a lot like a haiku to me, but of course its too long to be a haiku. It an interesting poem though. It makes me think of brains and jello.

Don't be depressed over a C on a test!!!!!!! There's nothing you can do to change it now. You've just got to try to work harder for the next test. Depression should not set in for something so trivial. In the grand scheme of things what's one test? well unless of course you are taking a college level course where there are only three tests the entire semester, then a test can mean a bit more.

Testing
By: Katy Kat on 7/11/2001; 9:32 PM

Hmm... When I was in school, I didnt try at all, I pretty much went out of my way to do nothing and whatever I wanted. My school records look like one long word of IIIIIIIIFFFFFFFFF... Those stand for Incomplete, and Failed, translates to 'IF, she ever graduates!' Of course when I went to college, I still tried very little and aced everything. I still never took notes, but I actually went to class, and passed everything. Why is it like that? I think that high school is just made to sift out the proverbial losers even if they arent. I figure it this way, dont try too hard, even if you are paying for it. Sometimes just the act of trying too hard can give you a mental block. Basically relax Kaju, a C wont kill you, unless you are a high school work jerk looking at Harvard. When you do finally get some degree, its not going to say 'Second year, first tri, second final midterm, got a C, what a loser.' I try to sift through my life that way, 'Is this REALLY going to matter to anyone in ten years???!'

ooh well that makes me feel better about going to college. I'm not sure how hard it is but most Episcopal graduates have said that LSU is actually easier than Episcopal. Well I shall see. I kind of get worried though at the ridiculous amounts of free time I seem to have. I add it up and I only seem to have 3 hours of class a day...Ahhhh time heavy on my hands..... Perhaps I should consider doing something. The thing that scares me is the amount of homework that might be impending if I have that much time to do it in.

Kaju, #1 rule: compress Compression yields potency. What do I mean by that? Take out as many "I", "the" and excess words as possible. Make EVERY word meaningful. Use the cryptic language of Devi. Your eraser is your best friend in compression. Try it with this poem. You'll love it.
