More!! Exciting!!! Site News!!!!
By: Mark Morgan on 5/5/2001; 10:10 PM

  • The home page is mostly updated. The Dreamzone sidebar is way behind, but we'll all survive that. It's going to become automated in the next round of updates, yipee! So will the discussion group sidebar. Isn't automation grand?
  • I've been informed that a high school teacher in Louisiana has made posting here a classroom assignment. That's fine, but expect a bunch of hit and run authors. Please make them feel welcome, perhaps some will stay and grow up to become the next Hemingway. Or Richard Davidson.
  • I did a bunch of things on the backend that make life easier for me but shouldn't affect you at all. Any miscellaneous weirdness today, that was it.
  • There will be a very brief time I'm offline while I switch service providers. Don't panic. Except for you. You should panic.
  • Monkeys.

Hold on there, Kaju. Writing is writing if they want to (or even have to) publish it. They should have the freedom to post here as they do at any other website. Who knows, it might intrigue them and they might find a love in the literary arts. Or, everyone else's prose and poetry might help them with their writing. Good might just come of it, even if it does bog Mark down with work. Plus, we have yet to see if anyone other than David Campbell wishes to post here.

Well its good to have new authors. Of course the irony of this is that the site is disallowed at least on some of the school computers. Hopefully they'll actually send in their good works since whatever they send in will presumably be published. I work on the school's literary, magazine The Troubadour, and a lot of people seem to have intentionally submitted their worst works on the theory that they are too horrible to be published. People get embarassed too easily in my opinion. Of course some people think I don't get embarassed easily enough. Just because I ran around on a school field trip with two pairs of underwear on my head does not mean that I don't get embarassed easily enough! But at any rate Yay!!!! Oh I might not be around so much since for some reason my internet at home cannot access Voices of Unreason so I have to post everything at school.
