confucious
By: Dawn Good on 10/22/2001; 12:47 PM

When the world turns so fast it stops,
That is where I am now,
So many things that need to be done but there's too much effort required.

I see them as they spin around never sure of when they'll stop,
Like a train that has been run off the tracks,
I hold on tight as it speeds right by wondering why I always am underneath.

It is said that life goes on,
And i believe them,
The only thing they don't dare to tell is just when and where it will stop.

God only knows,
And I'm sure he doesn't care,
How on this great green world I'm supposed to stop and just ride from here to there.

Very nicely written! *applause*
Hmm maybe someday i'll be good enough to write a complex literary analysis.
But for now its just clapping and smiling

Dear Dawn:

When the world stops
That is only the Universe Revolving.
Although many things need to be done,
Many things need not to be done.
Effort is only relative.

That which spins around you
Is that which remains still.
The train never arrived at the station,
And you will survive the day.

It is said that life goes on,
And you believe them.
And now I will tell you where it will stop.
It can only stop at the beginning,
And never at the end.

On this great green world,
You must stop when it is moving.
You must move when it stops.
Something is always in motion.

When all motion is in harmony,
Then all is still.

I have no idea why I wrote all that, so it must be some sort of prophecy. If I were you, I would take it quite seriously.

Dear Richard

thank you so much Richard,

That is just what i needed and the fact that you don't even understand the entire reason you wrote it, just that it had to be done therefore it was is amazing, because that's exactly why I wrote mine... When I read your response, honestly, i cried, i finally got to sit down and just understand, thank-you

Dawn, I copyedited your piece last night, I really hope that was okay, but I wanted to get it published posthaste.

When posting to this board, you can doublespace between paragraphs and it works the way you expect: puts in a doublespace

like this.

But for poetry, or any time you want to force a return at the end of a line you have to put in
after each line, like this:

this is a line
this is another line
and this is a third

but I can doublespace at the end.

I am way overdue for posting formatting instructions.

The alternative is to put

around
your
poem

Because that forces the browser to honor your carriage returns.

You could also just submit your message via email (as I'm doing here).
