The Face By: Sam Marston on 10/21/2001; 5:43 PM The face is a window to the soul, The eyes, a tunnel to the heart, Down to every freckle and mole, The face is the spirits cart. I see the one whos eyes are glazed, Whos face is long, sharp and narrow. Your spirit is calm fury blazed, And every word pains, like a flaming arrow. I see the one who frowns and sneers Whos gaze is colder than the night, You offer only hate, and jeers, No one understands your plight. I see the one whos eyes do twitch, They fear the world and what it will bring, You hide and cower in the ditch If only to avoid stone and sling I see the one whos eyes are soft and warm, Whos smile brings instant happiness. You protect me from their wrath and harm, The one I need, I must confess.
