The Real By: Sam Marston on 10/21/2001; 5:43 PM I look back down the path, Ive killed him more than I can keep track But no matter my rage or wrath, The bastard always comes back. The snickering sneer, The look in his eyes, He has no fear, He never dies. He is the mask that I wear, He blinds me, so I cannot see. This is my life, I dont want to share, But perhaps its him whos wearing me. Am I just the inner voice. Is the real one he? Do I even have a choice? Does he write of me? I hate you, me, alot.

If that would've been MY poem, it probably would've been about 4,000 verses, and would bore the average thinking person to the verge of cooking barnacles. You packed about three pages worth of emotion into a few dangerous stanzas, and for that, I applaud you. But there's this little voice in my head saying, "Has he got anything a little LIGHTER?" I'd really like to hear your take on hummingbirds and daffodils sometime, but for now, you have written a very good poem. As Mr. Burns would say, "excellent."

I thought there was something wrong with this site, but now I see what happened. You PULLED IT! My God, man, the poem was witty and fun, and I enjoyed it very much! You self-critics are all alike. "Oh, THIS work was inferior, I couldn't publish it," man, go read some of my stories sometime. You'll soon see that I publish ANY OLD THING, all willy-nilly, even if it IS crap. In fact, I think I'll go look for a lousy, lame story of mediocre quality to put here on this site today. Now BRING BACK THAT POEM!
