"You're not my father!"
By: Mark Morgan on 12/30/2000; 12:33 PM

I have crossed over to the Dark Side. I was looking at Unreason on a PC one day and saw how horribly stupendously large everything looks. Yikes! So I thought today I'd fiddle with the stylesheets some. I've changed the font to a smaller size, and made it Verdana instead of Arial.

Let me know what you think. To my eyes, on Elroy, the font is roughly equivalent to FONT SIZE="2" for the main text, and a bit smaller on the sidebars. It's in percentages, which I know fails on some browsers (pixels is the only thing that works completely), but I decided I would risk it so that you could resize the using your browser. The exception is the top banner navigation--the design goes goofy if you make the font really big, so I made that an absolute font. The whole site's probably itty bitty on a Mac at high resolution--sorry, Matt Mecham, I can only do so much...

Those of you who use the web version (and you know who you are), let me know what you think.

In a truly entertaining development (if your idea of entertainmnet is driving a man to the brink of homicide), I have redone the whole site in Verdana 12px, or 12 pixels (10 for the small text size). Pixels cannot be resized using your browser, as they are an absolute font size. Are we all having fun yet?

And why did I choose pixels? Because it's the only CSS code that operates properly in all browsers. Percentages, which is what I had been using, do not operate in 4.x for the PC. Oh, joy.

I hate browser vendors today.

Who needs sanity, anyways? Aradia reports that Unreason is unreadable on her PC. Folks, here is what I see.

Does that come within a hundred miles of anyone else?
