Angel nits By: Mark Morgan on 11/8/2000; 10:12 AM With nitcentral still unavailable, I'm going to post my Angel summary here, to move there when it's back up. Spoilers abound. Summary: While Angel flies to Degobah to train as a Jedi, Wesly takes a job masquerading as his employer. Much hilarity ensues. Ruminations and nits: Finally! I've been griping for weeks now that Wesly deserves a little attention. Angel's the star of the show, he's cursed with a soul, can't ever find perfect happiness, and if he wins his war against evil they'll turn him back human. Gunn's sister got turned into a vampire and Gunn had to stake her, so he's got that whole protector guilt thing going for him. Cordelia has visions sent to her by the Powers That Be, and is on a mission to save Gunn from his self-destructive ways. And Wesly Wyndham-Price, rogue demon hunter? His job? Bicker with Cordelia and looks stuff up in books. I've been calling him Plot Advancement Guy. So it's about darn time he gets some story. And what a great story! He kicks ass, saves the girl, and is the luminary of the jet setting crowd. Go Wesly! Meanwhile, they've really gotten good at understanding how much fun they can have with Angel. Having a cursed vampire as a main character could get depressing. Early in the season there were a few episodes that just plain beat us over the head with "Angel is a tortured soul." Okay, we get it, move on! Showing a slightly goofy side works wonders. "Would a warrior against Ultimate Evil really use that hair gel?" Good show all around.
RE: Angel nits By: Keith Alan Morgan on 11/9/2000; 12:37 AM Funny ep. Why didn't anyone question 'Angel's' glasses? Have we seen vampires with eye problems before? When Wesley drinks the blood, how come there wasn't a blood mustache?
