Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
By: Chie Theresa Fujioka on 11/8/2000; 12:32 AM

-I emailed this to my friends... If anyone is interested- Hey, a while ago I took the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test to map my personality. I took it from an official test my dad gave me. It said I was an iNFp. On this online test it said I was ENFp, so it is fairly accurate since I am actually an xNFp which means both intro and extroverted: I like to party and be crazy, but on other days I can be equally as shy or stay-at-home-read-a-book-ish. So anyway, these usually help determine the atmosphere you might want to work in as an adult. I found the character description fairly accurate so you might want to give it a shot. http://www.keirsey.com/ take The Keirsey Temperament Sorter II >hehe... I love cut and paste >It is an excellent resource so check it out!! -chie >BTW i got a book with my results... It is pretty cool... rather thick >PS if you could look up iNFp and compare it with what you know of me and tell me how acurate you think it is, it'd be really cool. >PPS please tell me yours too... I like to know :) >PPPS pass this on if you

I got iNFp as well, which seems rather odd, since that's not really how I'd have thought of myself. I dunno, maybe you can tell if it's accurate? I think it probably fits you closer.

Chie, personality tests are fun, aren't they?

I tried your online test, and the results said I was an iNFj, an idealistic "counselor" type, focused on personal journeys and human potentials. I thought that part was fairly accurate, but it gave me a lot more credit than I deserve for being "poetical," "intuitive," and "kind-hearted." Reading the questions, I often thought, "If I knew the answer to this, I wouldn't need to take a personality test!" Also, it would have been more informative if the results had mentioned negative personality traits as well as positive ones.

Still, it was pretty interesting, and I bet it'd be fun to take it with friends/family and discuss everybody's results.

I took the MBTI in college--I took a bunch as part of a class for future career counselors, ah, the joys of the liberal arts philosophy--but I don't remember the results. I do remember them seeming spot-on, but then again astrology results seems spot on because they're so general.

On that note, of course there's a skeptical view of the MBTI over at the Skepdic's Dictionary.
