Happy Easter, everyone. Spend some time with your family, if you do nothing else at all.

Oh, c'mon Mark -- I expected something a little more acerbic on Easter from our resident atheist. ;) I could do the theist rant on commercialization of the holiday, etc., but frankly, I'm too tired from spending some time with my family.

Happy Easter to you too!

Yeah, I agree. I've been waiting all day for the other shoe to drop.

At first I thought he was losing his edge (sorry about the "third person," Mark!), then I decided (probably just to amuse myself) that his happy little Easter Bunny message was just ironic (annoying) enough to be very good.

Even an atheist can appreciate how important family is. Even this atheist. Especially this atheist.

Happy Easter, one and all.

So what are you saying, O Atheistic One? That we should spend time with our families only because it's a Christian holiday?

Oh, bah. After my mother went into cardiac arrest, I've learned to spend every day with her, even if it's just dropping by before or after work. Holidays notwithstanding.

Touché. But when my family wants to have one day set aside when everybody sits down and just enjoys themselves, who am I to tell them they're a bunch of superstitious ninnies? Plus, I love them, so that might bias my actions.

I say, if Easter gives you an excuse to get together, then I shall be the first one to shut up and enjoy the time with my family.
