Atomic Life By: Andrew Paul McEwen on 10/21/2001; 6:31 PM I play jumprope with power lines Its twirlers be those divine. My World's window is stained glass, Reflecting my mind's clarity has passed. I swim in my pool when it rains, Lightning's touch can only bring gains. I shower eighteen times a day, The water's filth I must wash away. All of this I live through and endure, Everyone should live like this, poor Thomas More.
RE: Atomic Life By: Neal Michael Whitlow on 9/10/2000; 8:00 PM This poem is absolute lunacy.
RE: Atomic Life By: Dorothy Marie Koveal on 9/10/2000; 8:12 PM Interesting. The title puts more to it than it actually is. I don't understand the part about Thomas More. He was beheaded for treason, and was a major religious addict. Wrote Utopia... I like the quandary the lines about washing away water's filth with water convey. It's interesting.
Re: Atomic Life By: Matthew Patterson on 9/10/2000; 8:47 PM Erm... what? Sorry, I mostly don't get it. Especially the Thomas More reference, which seems to have nothing to do with the rest of the poem beyond providing a convenient rhyme. DK already explained (for the cabbages in the audience) who Thomas More is, so I really have nothing more to say. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? RE: Atomic Life By: Dorothy Marie Koveal on 11/18/2000; 10:12 AM THOMAS MORE WAS A MARTYR! HE STOOD UP FOR WHAT HE BELIEVED! HE WAS EXECUTED BY THE KING FOR STANDING UP FOR THE POPE AND CHRISTIANITY! HE'S NOT POOR!
