Cardinal Plumage By: Dorothy Marie Koveal on 10/21/2001; 5:39 PM Beneath the cherry blossom tree fresh petals fall from wind to me like droplets in a sweet spring rain they wash away my tears of pain. Conceal that pain from prying eyes depart from where the salt still lies in wavering eyes; visage of light and luminescence, cleansed by night. Beneath the cherry blossom tree, untainted youths live joyfully as once I did in ignorance, but bliss was killed by pestilence. When severed by betrayal from trust, my soul had burst by loathsome lust lost like dead lives, and more dead loves, and snatched like twigs in talons of doves. Beneath the cherry blossom tree, the song of birds is sung so free as they ascend to light blue skies and leave a spray of blooms behind. So delicate, a gift to me, with radiant gleam for all to see in awe and wonder. Dear Aves, fly away and move on.
RE: Cardinal Plumage By: Evan on 4/9/2001; 5:25 PM How do you manage to write so much good poetry? I hear that you're supposed to reach deep inside yourself for the words, but the only thing I find is gas. He He. I think I'll stick to stories, but this is a wonderful poem Dorothy. Darn everything I've said so far about stuff I've read has been positive, can't you write anything bad so I can balance it out a little bit?????? I'm just kidding by the way, keep it up!!!!!!!
