Welcome to Percotran -Part XXIX By: Richard Davidson on 3/2/2003; 5:58 PM Ted! 17 cried, I thought you drowned! I thought YOU drowned, Ted answered, amazed that he hadnt. What a wonderful reunion, said Richter, his eyes getting a little misty. Need I remind you all that Im holding a Thermal Detonator? asked Thawala, obviously starved for attention. 17 held out his hand, to beckon the XP-2,000,000, and then, realizing hed turned it off, he tried to back slowly towards where it sat on the table. Uh uh, cautioned Thawala, I wouldnt do that. Hes probably going to kill us all, sobbed Richter. Very perceptive, Commander, intoned Thawala. Ill just take whats rightfully mine, and then I will kill you all. I think hes doing that in the wrong order, gasped Ted, as Thawala let go of him, and started for the table. I for one, am very glad, said Richter, coming around just a bit. Thawala almost had the XP-2,000,000 in his hand when 17 head butted him in the chest, knocking him back a little. I am holding a Thermal Detonator, he reminded 17. If you set that thing off, youll die along with us, answered 17, trying his best to wrestle the big Geneticon. Thawala threw him forcefully against the wall, as Ted slammed him over the head with a Lorgimer Box, made of solid Bensteen. To his surprise, it did no damage at all, and now he was the one who was airborne. I am quite willing to die for this mission, said Thawala, adding, and you three are simply not capable of dealing with me, anyway. Then why did you bring the Thermal Detonator? asked Richter, starting to cry again. Shut up! shouted Thawala, truly frustrated by these idiot men. His hand closed around the XP-2,000,000, and a look of sheer bliss came to his face. And now, I will destroy this evil corporation, once and for all, laughed Thawala. But thats what I wanted to do, sobbed Richter, its not fair. I offered to help, said Ted, rubbing his head, but he didnt believe me. Bah, spat Thawala, why would I believe a corporate drone like you? Youve been programmed your entire life to be loyal to this abomination. I will have no guilt at all over your death, Worker 2567A. Ted had never realized just how distasteful he found that name, and was considering rushing him again. Why would you want to destroy this company? asked 17, staring at Ted contemptuously. It provides work for 7 Billion people. It controls 4/5 of the worlds economy. It has invented everything from hard liquor, to the Nebulex 6500M. Its atmosphere regenerators are the only reason there is still life on this planet at all! See? Thawalas temple pulsed with anger. THAT is the corporate mindset, right there! You are no better than Sweeper Drones. This was too much for Richter, who kicked Thawala squarely in the groin. Thats for Kitty! he shouted, as Thawala groaned, and knocked him unconscious. I hope you two are proud of what you did to his brain, he stormed. He was once a truly great man! He was going to kill us, offered Ted, in way of explanation. And well he should have. You are two of the most pathetic humans Ive ever had the displeasure of setting my eyes on. Oh, and youre so much better, answered 17. Youve spent your whole life planning to liberate Earth from the evil clutches of Percotran, and never even considered how youre going to generate atmosphere. You cant believe everything the Company tells you, little man, sneered Thawala. The Percotran Atmospheric Generation System is a joke. 17 gasped. Hed never heard such a thing before, and it made him wonder just what else the Company had lied to him about, if what the Geneticon said was true. Tie him up, Thawala said, throwing Ted an ancient hemp rope, and indicating 17. Ted looked at him, confused. DO IT! Thawala shouted, holding up the Thermal Detonator. Go ahead, push the button, Ted mocked. I dont care, and if you set that thing off down here, Percotran will be fine. Your mission will have failed, and well all be dead. Ted had a point, so Thawala knocked him out, too, and proceeded to tie 17 firmly to the Agrenio Rack. He then proceeded to tie Richter and Ted to the rack as well. Thawala activated the magnetic seal, and the Thermal Detonator clamped itself to the rack with a clank. Once the magnetic seal on a Percotran International Issue Thermal Detonator, you have about 15 minutes until it goes off, unless you have the Cemron Model, which goes of in 8 seconds, and is primarily used for suicide missions. Thawala spat on 17, and then on the unconscious Ted, laughed, and ran out the door. Ted slowly came to. That was stupid, he told 17. What? 17 couldnt see what in hell he was talking about. That big Geneticon couldve just twisted our necks, and killed us all, but instead, he tied us up, and left us here with 15 minutes to escape. 17 had to get ahold of himself, before he could answer. Hed really grown to like Ted, considering him a friend; no, a brother, and he just hated to tell him the bad news. Well, he did tie us pretty tight, and theres another factor for you to consider. Whats that? asked Ted. Youve been unconscious. He activated that Thermal Detonator just a little over ten minutes ago.
