sun do not rise
By: Chie Theresa Fujioka on 2/20/2003; 5:43 AM

the watercolour blood feels.
it feels warm
on my melting snow hands...
like that sensation
a forgotten sensation,
of watching my dear precious blossoms
collide and crumple
somewhere between destiny and fate
surprisingly silent the grief sleeps,
a death I learned to live
.
all the frightened colours
are inverted, perverted
the death of each blackened star
from unearthly sheets of purer white
their muted celestial dust cover mine
and I, undone, reform
from the darkened past, reborn
this wilderness desert of shining sand
is still in the dawn of night
sun do not rise

A gloomy atmosphere told through a lively flow of words. Bravo!

Thanks.

I'm not sure how gloomy it is. Guess it's like phoenixes and all that.

But yeh... another paradise.

Chie, as always I find your work very inspirational, and very lovely. Before you ask me "inspirational how?" I will quote the great poet Bob Dylan from "It's Allright Ma (I'm only Bleeding)"

Pointed threats, they bluff with scorn
Suicide remarks are torn
From the fool's gold mouthpiece
The hollow horn plays wasted words
Proves to warn
That he not busy being born
Is busy dying

Here's a link to the entire song, which is one of the greatest ever written:

Boy richard, I didn't know that you read Bob Dylan. He's great isn't he? After all where could you find a poet that used a vilanelle poem to convey a melancholic message in the poem "Do Not Go Gentle Into that Goodnight".

To be honest, I don't actually READ Bob Dylan. I listen to him, usually at loud volume. Have been for years. He named himself after Dylan Thomas, and I'm quite positive that's who you're thinking of.

Dylan Thomas is a genius, worthy of a great poet/songwriter such as Bob Zimmerman to steal a name from. To me, the beauty of his work comes more from reading it aloud, or listening to it, than in just reading it. Try it, and enjoy the delicate vowels and consonants making your tongue tingle with mad, passionate joy. Practice it, and you can make beautiful women swoon, in the right setting, I PROMISE, I PROMISE I PROMISE!!!!

In the meantime, go and get yourself a copy of Bob Dylan's "Blood on the Tracks" immediately, and if you have enough money, pick up "Highway 61 Revisited" too. If you can listen to them both without coming away with something, I'm sorry, there is no hope for any of us.

I don't think that's going to happen, though.

In the meantime, RAGE AGAINST THE DYING OF THE LIGHT!

I know I do.

Ha ha ha! Sorry I was a little hazy when I posted this message, I just woke up when I wrote it. Anyway thanks, it was silly of me to mix Dylan Thomas and Bobby Dylan together. Anyway you're right, Dylan Thomas' work's beauty do come out when you read it aloud; you can savor the powerful flow of emotions that comes from his poems best in this way. As for the women part, I think you're right, although it would have its effect more with women who's got brains so it is perfect for grabbing women with both beauty and brains.

I too go RAGE AGAINST THE DYING OF THE LIGHT!

1. No need to apologize. Both men are quite brilliant, and Dylan's lyrics read with the same fluidity as Thomas's poems.

2. All women with brains are beautiful.

3. Dylan Thomas poems work on dumb girls too, but why bother?

"2. All women with brains are beautiful." That's right...now to get the rest of them to figure this out. Not too complicated, but it always seems so difficult for them to comprehend.

Richard I think Chie just auctioned you to an old woman with no teeth, better get out of the country while you still can!

I agree with you guys though that women with brains are beautiful, I for one dream of having a smart spouse when I get married, anyway who doesn't dream of smart wife. I think almost everybody does.

Thanks, Chie, but my wife has put in a good claim to me. She could kick that old lady's ass, I guarantee you.

Rachelle, all men who are worth a crap know about the beautiful brain thing; the problem is, many women, (especially young women,) don't know to look for a brain in their men. The good man is often the man they passed by to get a date with Mr. Wonderful Abs, or Mr. Wonderful Car, or whatever. Sad, but true.

R.A.B. you sound like a smart young man. Just to give you some history, I didn't get married until I was 38. Up until then, I just hadn't met the right woman. A whole lot of women who SEEMED smart enough, upon reflection, were complete idiots.

Note: Percotran XXVI is up; XXVII is halfway written, but I have work to do around the house. We're snowed in. Just having my morning "wake up smoke and coffee" before I get started.

Well Richard,as the saying goes "Try and try until you succeed".I'm glad you succeeded. I didn't imagine you as 38 above though, you seemed to be too energetic to be in your late 30's.
