DragonBall Essay #2
By: Mandy on 10/21/2001; 5:49 PM

Confusion! Paranoia! Scared! Sad!

I'm not talking about a doctor's office, or someone who's been through a bad situation and has mental affects because of it.

I'm talking about my reaction to certain DBZ comics.

Didn't expect that, did you?

DBZ is cool. It is great. But sometimes it confuses.

Take power levels for instance. In the beginning, there were the saiyans. They had scouters. It was all well and good. I understood it. Then they throw in the Boudokai and that measure of power. Okay, still not confused. And then this gets thrown it.

Now, if you look at the link from the word 'this', you see it either says"Power level 11" or "Power level 5". I can't quite understand from the layout of the card. But my lord... At the beginning, Gohan's power level was 600-something. How could they all have gone down so freaking much?!

And then look at this one.

Power level 1? Or 5?

If it's 5, it's probably saying most powerful, but still it's confusing. I realize I'm ranting about a silly thing, and most of you have already clicked away. I analyze too much.

But for most of you still sticking around, here's why it's still confusing:

Power levels vary widely when someone turns Super Saiyan. The first card has Vegeta in either SSJ(Super saiya-jin) or USSJ(Universal Super Saiya-jin, the level between SSJ and SSJ2 as according to Planet Namek.) and Trunks in some level of USSJ.

The second card has both in normal, and Bulma.

Now, if we go by the names of the gifs, the first is Vegeta's card, and the second is Trunks'. So the cards if they go by power levels
'1','2','3','4','5',each must cover a wide range of power level, because of the great difference between Normal Mode and SSJ.

It would be quite easy to email the webmaster and ask.

I think I will do that.

But it is fun to figure it out too.

Of course, in saying all this, I have discovered the obvious thing- if it says 11 as the power level of the first card and not card #11, and 1 as the one of the second, then 1 means normal mode and each after is a form of different power in SSJ and SNJ(Super Namek I think something like that happened once upon a time).

So now I say to myself: Duh.

Thanks to everyone for listening.
