Upon discovering a thin line...

I know I haven't posted in...well...nearly forever, but here are some thoughts. -Sara

Upon discovering a thin line...

There is a thin line between being "normal" and being "wrong".
Being normal is possessing 20 more pounds than I do, if you happen to be my height.
Being wrong is being upset because what you -do- happen to weigh is 20 pounds more than you used to.
A normal person in my position would decide that 20 under was good enough.
A normal person would chalk the new 20 up to college and crappy diets.
But I'm wrong.
The new 20 means I'm no longer a size 2.
The girl next door wears smaller shirts than me.
I bought my first medium.
Normal people wouldn't mind.
I mind.
But someone who is wrong would lose the new 20.
They wouldn't eat, they would exercise.
I don't.
I still eat.
I wish I didn't, but I do.
I'm walking on a line...I'm not "normal", I'm not "wrong".
Not by society's standards.
So I've discovered this line.
It's thin.
How ironic.
And I'm walking it.

Upon discovering a thin line...

My thoughts upon hearing yours is that your 20 pounds more must be more normal than mine, since you are walking on a thin line. I tell you my 20 pounds more is definitely wrong since that thin line I was walking on broke and now Im definitely walking on the wrong side of the thin line. In fact for some time I havent even been close to the 'THIN' line. Id say that after last baby, I am definitely walking towards the fat line! Sigh, I am on a diet which has been helped tremendously by starting work as a waitress. Of course it has helped me gain more weight, with all the free meals I can eat!

'How many meals of meat could a waitress eat if a waitress would eat meat?'

Answer: 'I eat free square meals of meat a day. With vegis on the side, on top, underneath, or in between.'

Being a waiter is fun. I did it a lot at boy scout summer camp. It was supposed to be on a rotating basis but I ate everybody's leftovers as I picked up the plates so I liked doing it. My scoutmaster made me stop, something about spreading infectious diseases or something. As for the whole thingy with weight, I never understand why people want to try to lose so much weight. As long as people are sufficiently light not to cause strain on their hearts I don't see any reason for people to lose weight. Its probably one of those things that will never completely make sense about humanity, it and fashion and personal grooming beyond that which is neccessary to maintain a parasite free body.

Hey, isn't that the Golden Ratio? 1.6-something to 1?

Not necessarily. For instance, if you were to measure yourself in cm, then
convert to inches, you should get (I think) one more sig fig.

Moreover, most rulers and measuring devices have fractions of inches marked,
so you could measure to the nearest fraction, convert to a decimal, and do
sig figs from that. If you wind up being *exactly* some inch value, can't
you consider that as having an infinite number of significant zeros after
the decimal point?

Close enough. We're not sending rockets to the moon here. (Though even those
calculations don't have to be *too* precise. Hard to miss the moon, after
all.)
