Bible Pornography By: Brian Webber on 10/21/2001; 5:55 PM Is it a sin to get turned on while reading God's words in the Bible? Once in a chat room I made an off the cuff remark about the Bible never prohibiting pornography (actually I was really repeating something someone else had told me)when suddenly I remebered that the aformetnioned 'someone else' had also told me the good book actually contains what some might label disgusting filthy trash. Now don't get bent out of shape my puritanical killjoy Christian friends. It is true. The Bible has a mildly graphic book called the Song of Songs. The nuns at school must skip over this one quite often or they might break their vows. Some describe it as a symbolic tale of God's love for the church. But it doesn't sound much like fatherly love to me. This short book sounds like two people getting it on! What I offer the reader here is from the Good News version. The man says: You, my love, excite me as a mare excites the stallions of Pharaoh's Chariots. Your breasts are like gazelles, twin deer feeding among the lilies. The curve of your thighs is like the work of an artist. You are as graceful as a palm tree and your breasts are like clusters of dates. The woman says: Be my king and take me to your room. We will be happy together drink deep and lose ourselves in love. My lover has the scent of myrrh as he lies on my breasts. Wake up north wind and blow on my garden filling the air with fragrance. Let my lover come to the garden and eat the best fruits. Let me come in my darling, my sweetheart, my love. My head is wet with dew, and my hair is damp with mist. I have already undressed, why should I get dressed again? I wish that you were my brother that my mother had nursed you at her breast. Then if I met you in the street I would kiss you and no one would mind. I would take you to my mothers house where you could teach me love. If the Bible is God's word it sounds like he enjoys a good racy romance novel! I want to thank my anonymous (by choice) benfactor for sending me that material! ;-)
RE: Bible Pornography By: Chie Theresa Fujioka on 4/23/2001; 8:31 PM yuhp. I know it's there. Now, as the symbol representing God's love for the church: Often Jesus is termed te "bridegroom" and the church the "bride." does that help? There are other ares which are also graphic. Read Judges. There are accounts of rape, child sacrfice, murder (a woman hammering a tent peg into a sleeping man's head), and other "less kosher" things. The fact is that the Bible is a book about life, and about real life. It is about sin, love, life, fear, and death. The Song of Songs/Solomon is a definite love book, meant to entice the reader. This is to show the complete fullness of emotion between not only God and his people, but also the ideal awe between those in love. Too bad a guy wrote it :-p *wink wink* - chewy
RE: Bible Pornography By: Brian Webber on 11/17/2002; 12:34 AM I was going to mention that this, like all the articles I have asked to have removed, was plagarized. Except now I just remembered (after re-reading it) that I actually DID acknowledge that this was not an original piece. I hope Mark morgan sees fit to let this one stay, even though I initially had it on the list of surveys I had ripped-off. I want to thank my anonymous (by choice) benfactor for sending me that material! ;-) was written entirely by me. *wink* I wonder if I still have the author's e-mail address. I'll have to see how he's doing.
RE: Bible Pornography By: D. J. Dixon on 9/20/2005; 5:48 PM Wink-wink, nudge-nudge, say no more!
