one day

By vanessa

One day, a girl named alex found herself at a loss of words, a loss of friends, and a loss of thoughts. This really cute older guy named eric asked her to a dance and she said "of course, i'd love to go." later, she found out that this other really cute older guy named josh liked her too and she became attached him. she didn't want to hurt eric, so she kept her and joshs' relationship low key...at least until after the dance. they became close friends and discused a serious relationship. they decided to remain JUST friends, but that didn't last long. before either knew it, they we're dating without really technically dating, if that makes any sense. then, friends gave her advice to talk to josh about their relationship, because josh was several years older than alex and both his and her parents were "ify" about them being together. so they talked, and somehow things got totally mixed up and turn around and spun around every which way except the way it was supposed to go. josh thought that alex wanted to break up with him, which was totatlly insane because alex really had feelings for josh. but by the time alex told josh that there had been a mix up and josh realized this, he had "moved on", so he said, and didn't want anything to do with alex. she was devastated. then things started happening...he would hold her hand, and comfort her. she was being spun in circles by josh. she though "well, sometimes i think he still likes me, but then he turns around and acts like he hates me. i just don't know what to do." she told her friends this and they told her to talk to josh about it and see if she couldn't figure out what josh was thinking. these were the same friends who told her to have the talk with him before...the one that caused this whole mess to begin with.

she compiled her thoughts into 2 phrases: "What if u like someone that likes u but then theres that one person who messes it all up? and even worse, what if that one person messing it up is YOU?" she went around asking her friends for more advice and finally decided to talk to josh. she did and found out that he acted the way he did because she looked miserable from fear and sadness and stress and he just wanted to comfort her. she acepted this and then just walked away. finally, days/weeks later they began talking again and were on speaking terms. alex talked to her friends some more about why she liked this guy who kept hurting her and mixing her up.

she summed these feelings into a poem (sort of): he's the one who broke my heart, he's the reason my world fell apart, its guys like him that make me cry, yet i still love him & i dont know y" her friends called her obessed and some of them decided to let her deal with her problems by herself. they thought she was crazy to like this a**hole of a guy and that it was her problem, but she still seeked advice from those who offered to help her..."why do i like this jerk?" she had run out of ideas of what to say or think. then the answer came to her... she likeS him b/c he's sweet, he's awesome, he's always there-even if temporarily it doesn't seem like it, he is one of those friends who you know is always there, but just like a star, you might not always see them. he is someone she can depend on. but she was still very confused. should she go the whole nine yards and hope that josh realizes that he misses her and get back together with her? or should she just totally forget about anything that ever happened between josh and her...forget the pain and confusion along with the joy and affection and emotion?

i don't know how to end this fictitious story, so i will leave the ending up to you, i'm open to suggestions...
