What I Collect
- When you visit a page, Site Meter records some basic information about your computer. There is no way to tell who you are from this information--it's all in aggregate. I use this solely to let me design the site to match those logs, and it is a very limited version of the same information you send to every server on the internet. I have also chosen to hide this information from public view; if you're interested in what particular information is collected about you, ask me and I'll tell you. You'll need to provide some way to show me you're who you claim to be.
- When you visit this or any other site on the web, your browser sends to the server a bunch of basic identifying information, including your IP number and some other basics. I currently do nothing at all with this information; in the future I may analyze the aggregate information for traffic patterns (like, what OS are most people using), but that's it.
Who I Share it With
No one. This information is my eyes only, save for the fact that my ISP, Macrobyte Resources, also has access to the server logs.
I will never share, sell, barter, collect, trade, or compromise your private information without your permission. I am violently against that sort of nonsense. If you ever believe information that you have provided to me in confidence has instead become known by a third party, contact me immediately and I will deal with it, up to and including whatever legal means are at my disposal. If you feel uncomfortable e-mailing, post it the Discussion Group.
