Sign up to become a member, Membership is required for some things on Conversant sites, which is the hosting tool we use. Membership is free, and after you're a member you can set a
member preference to hide your e-mail from everyone but me and the hosting company.
Membership isn't absolutely necessary; you can read anything on the site, including read-only access to the discussions (but you couldn't post). But membership does have some benefits.
- To become an author, it's easiest to just post something in the discussion group. I'll promote it to a story, and add it to the proper index. The advantage of this system is you can then edit it later, or even delete it altogether, at your convenience.
- You can view the site in your newsreader.
- You can choose to receive new content in your e-mail.
- It helps us to build community here, which is important to us. I can begin to assign members different conversation areas, I can give trusted members authority over parts of the sites, it's a very powerful tool for us to use.
