Shong can be used in a situation of disbelief and amazement. For example I was watching television one night and I saw a man fall out of a 747 airplane. Instead of saying Oh no! Is he okay? Why did that happen? Wow! I cant believe what I just saw! I said, Shong! because I was watching in disbelief and amazement.
Shong can also be used in a situation when one is speechless. For example when I saw the New Zealand landscape in the New Line Cinema movie The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring for the first time, I said, Shong! I was speechless at how stunning the scenery was. Another example is when my sister showed me a two-carat diamond up against her hand. Her hand is so small that a large diamond up against her hand is huge. I was astonished so I said, Shong! My sister just laughed at my new word.
I use shong because it is a funny word and when I use that word I giggle and have raised spirits if I am feeling down. I also use this word because I can get my point across. This word has become part of my regular vocabulary. While getting a point across because of the pronunciation and context used with the word, it can be fun for one to use the word shong.
