What's this site for? Go to the one of the sections and read something. There are daily brief writings in the
Dreamzone, or you might look in the
Writings, for starters. Feel inspired to write? It's easy to
become an author.
Or go to the Discussion Group and talk about some things, relating to writing, world domination, or anything else. Or do all. That's it--a way for writers to see their work being read, and for readers to read some of that work and write their own thoughts.
This site is run by me, Mark Morgan, but I only administer it. It really belongs to everyone, as a place to put your thoughts.

I've been wanting to do this for quite some time. While sending stories into postalspace quells my fiction writing self, I've never been much interested in sending my essays anywhere. Here, I can rant all I want and I get the extra joy of providing a home for others to publish. And, I get instant feedback (mostly). What more could you want?
Here are some resources I've used to create this website:
- First, this website is run on Conversant, an internet groupware tool with a content management system built into it. Which is like putting a jet engine in the family car. And Macrobyte Resources President Seth Dillingham worked hard to pratically abduct me to move to his service. How nice is that?
- Credit for the beautiful graphic design must go to Matt Mecham of SF Designs. Ugly parts, alas, have only me to blame.
- This site's design was heavily influenced by useit.com.
- Some of these rants first made their appearance on Nitpicker Central Bulletin Brash Reflections. (Full Disclosure: I moderate the Angel topic).
- MediaBuilder has an excellent set of browser-based tools for you site, including a great online tool for reducing GIF images.
- Webmaster Resources Has essays on every darn thing you need to know.
- projectcool media is another excellent resource. I discovered it after writing the site, but it influences the site's continued development.
- Search Engine Watch Is your source for using search engines, and what you can do to be listed on them.
It just amazes me is how
much of this stuff is out there for no money spent.The nature of communication is rapidly changing, because you and I can do just about everything people with tons of money can do. Sometimes better, because we love our sites.
Please, look around, read some things, and when the urge hits you, write some things.
